Woman Jumping From Penang Bridge Successfully Rescued By Fishermen

George Town – A woman was reported to have decided to dive into the sea at the Penang Bridge before being rescued by fishermen in an incident that occurred today.

Citing a Kosmo report, the victim also left a black KTNS Rhino 125 motorcycle with a pink helmet by the wall of the Penang bridge at about 2.40pm before diving.

Firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after receiving a suicide threat call at 2.47pm.

Jalan Perak Fire and Rescue Station chief A’Azelan Hassan said the 27 -year -old woman had jumped from the bridge before the fire brigade arrived at the scene.

“The victim was rescued by coastal fishermen who were near the scene and then handed over to the marine police for further action,” he said.

The incident has caught the attention of users of the bridge who were on their way to Seberang Perai.

Earlier, a similar incident also occurred involving a 43 -year -old woman.

In the incident last Saturday, the woman was rescued by a firefighter after trying to jump from kilometer 3.4 from Perai to the island.
