Amber Heard played Criminal Minds’ Lila Archer

Before she was Aquaman’s Mera, Amber Heard scored herself a cameo in the mystery series Criminal Minds.

The actress played Lila Archer, a Juilliard School alumni who works as a waitress, waiting for her big break in the entertainment industry. The character eventually earns herself a role on a TV show, but things come shattering down when Maggie Lowe (Katheryn Winnick), her friend and temporary roommate, starts stalking her. It’s revealed that Maggie is behind the killing of Lila’s manager Michael Ryer and, later in the episode, Lowe even holds Archer at gunpoint.

Throughout her Season One appearance, Lila and Spencer Reid develop somewhat of a romance after meeting at an art gallery, but by the end of the episode, it’s clear nothing materialises between them.

What episodes does Amber Heard’s character Lila Archer appear in?

Amber Heard’s Criminal Minds stint was short-lived. According to Criminal Minds Fandom, Lila Archer only appeared in one episode.

Heard starred in Season One, Episode 18 ‘Somebody’s Watching’, which aired in 2006. At the time, the actress was only 20 years old and relatively early on in her career. She was yet to earn her breakthrough roles in Zombieland and Pineapple Express.

In Season Four and Season Five, Lila’s name is briefly mentioned again to Reid, but Heard doesn’t physically appear on the screen.

Why is the actress making headlines now?

Johnny Depp is suing Amber Heard for defamation due to an op-ed she published in the Washington Post in 2018. He has asked for $50 million in damages. Heard is countersuing Depp and has asked for $100 million in damages and immunity against his claims.

Testimony has been given by both parties, and Heard’s sister, friends, and makeup artists have all recently taken to the witness stand. All have testified either seeing her injuries or alleged altercations with Depp, The Independent reports.

Throughout the case, Depp has denied ever assaulting Heard.
