Virtual Store is making a splash in the metaverse economy

The virtual store is among the hottest topics in the metaverse economy, which allows customers to experience the online shopping trend just as they would in a brick-and-mortar store without VR glasses.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, customers have shifted greatly to online purchases, and this trend encouraged physical store owners to migrate online to the point of creating a virtual store that integrates online and offline shopping, to satisfy customers.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs (ROC) recently commissioned the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to push the smart digital service plan virtual store abroad.

The main purpose of the plan is to help the virtual store build an OMO – online integration – marketing strategy for the overseas industry and create 3D copies of traditional stores to provide customers with an immersive online shopping experience.

Meanwhile, 3D technology can combine real-time customer service, interactive products and digital coupons to elevate the interactive customer experience.

In Malaysia, for example, ITRI recently helped JOY & PEACE in Gardens Mall in Kuala Lumpur and MOODBOARD in Sky Avenue Genting Highlands take panoramic photos of their stores and launch their online platforms.

Companies can create the virtual store in 3D versions by only providing information and purchasing links to their products.

The Smart Digital Service Plan also offers a unique field and customer activity report, with functionality that includes BOPIS (online purchase and in-store pickup), coupons, virtual shelves, online customer services and online shopping carts in virtual stores.

The smart digital service plan virtual store belongs to the intellectual trading service promotion plan by the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Republic of China

ITRI will provide photography and the platform free of charge to overseas industries until December 31, 2022, and players in the industry will only have to prepare information about their products such as words, images or videos that can be combined with social media or digital coupons for marketing.
