Mac Jones can be a dirty player and we have the footage to back it up.
The New England Patriots quarterback had already been called for an apparent dirty slide when he slipped Monday night and lifted his leg to hit Bears defensive back Jaquan Brisker in an area no player wants to get hit.
That wasn’t the only controversial slide.
Later in the game, he appeared to target the same player after a slide.
We also have to remember last season when he appeared to roll Brian Burns’ leg.
In addition to his obvious foul play, Jones will start for the Patriots when they visit the New York Jets on Sunday. He had missed three games with a high ankle sprain suffered in Week 3, but returned for Week 7 against Chicago.
When asked directly if he would start Sunday, Jones replied, “I plan on starting every game I’ve ever played in, whether it’s peewee football or third string at Alabama. I always try to prepare as a starter. Like I say, if it’s a moment or 70, I’ll be ready to go. That’s all you can do, right? You can’t control anything else. I work hard and put myself in a position to do this, and yes, I think I deserve it.”
Jones had started Monday’s loss to the Bears, but was replaced by Zappe after three drives.
