Police are identifying two to three other people suspected of being involved in the kidnapping of cosmetic sales agent Rosnazirah Mohd Naim by a group of men at her home in Tumpat, Kelantan on September 13.
Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the suspect identified was believed to be a local, but that it would take time to gather and share information with authorities in Thailand.
“The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) is still investigating and examining all available evidence to find out the true nature of this case and asks the media to be patient and give us a little more time so that we can actually find out. set up (make sure) the real motive behind the escape of this victim,” he told reporters in Jakarta, today.
He said this when met after a working visit to Penang in commemoration of the 75th Marine Police Day at the Batu Uban Marine Police Base, here. Also present was Director of the Department of Homeland Security and Public Order (KDNKA) Bukit Aman Datuk Series Hazani Ghazali.
In the September 13 incident, the victim was abducted by several men from her home in Kampung Semat Jal, Tumpat at 5:10 p.m. and allegedly taken to a neighboring country via an illegal base in Kuala Jambu, Tumpat following the discovery of the car used by the suspect.
Acryl Sani in a previous statement said the victim was rescued through cooperation and sharing of information and intelligence between PDRM and the Royal Thai Police who managed to find the victim’s whereabouts in the country.
Regarding the question of whether PDRM will bring in suspects in cases detained in neighboring countries for extradition, Acryl Sani said the process would be carried out through legal channels.
Meanwhile, when asked about the situation of child abduction cases and the sale of organs on social media, Acryl Sani said police investigations found most of the cases fake.
He said based on the investigation and further information, he found that the case involved was untrue, unfounded and deliberately created and spread by certain parties for an unspecified purpose.
“With the exception of the kidnapping case in Genting Highlands (Pahang), I can’t comment because it’s currently in the trial process, so let the court determine the real motive behind the incident,” he said.
However, he saw that the outbreak of the case had indirectly increased the awareness of parents and the public about child safety, but asked the public not to spread false news that would disturb the public.
