Kota Bharu: The government will not bargain with any individual or party that causes a provocation to insult Islam and the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dato’ Ahmed Marzouq Shaari said that any act that insults and threatens harmony will be met with strict action.
“The government will never compromise with any provocative act that insults the purity of Islam or insults the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, and his rulings.
“Anyone who does that, we will make sure that they are faced with the appropriate legal process, it depends on the suitability of the civil or Sharia court,” he said.
He stated this at a press conference after making a donation to the Free Open Market Program: @YADIM Market in conjunction with the Kelantan-wide Malaysian Family Aspirations Tour, here, today.
In response to a question about the government’s suitability to amend the law to impose stricter measures, he said, so far the current law is sufficient and there is no need to amend the law.
“The current law is sufficient so far. Even those who committed acts that offend religion have been punished,” he added.
