The following post contains spoilers for Don’t Worry Darling and is meant to be read after you’ve seen the film and you’re just as confused by the parts as we are.
Even the trailer for Do not worry dear make it clear something is happening in the city of Victory. Everyone there is beautiful, happy, successful, but everything is a little too clean, a little too organized, a little too artificial. Alice (Florence Pugh) lives the happy life of a 1950s housewife with her husband Jack (Harry Styles) until the day she witnesses strange occurrences outside of Victory. Then he begins to suspect that all is not as it seems, and that Jack’s boss Frank (Chris Pine) might have some sinister tricks up his perfectly handcuffed sleeves.
Alice took quite a while to uncover the secret in Olivia Wilde’s heart Do not worry dear, and even when he does, the film still leaves me scratching my head — about how the world of Victory works, and how certain clues in the film’s first two acts relate to what we learn about places in the third act. In an effort to make sense of it all, I made a list of questions, some of which I definitely knew the answer to, and others I really didn’t know. I have done my best to try to explain everything. In some cases, I’m bound to fail — and if you think you know, feel free to let me know.
