The Bonobo escaped back safely to his pasture at Planckendael Zoo

The Bonobo, who escaped Friday morning from his pasture at the Planckendael Zoo in Mechelen (Antwerp province), was listed on the animal park’s social network Twitter. The animal is now recovering from its emotions in its pasture. The site, which was evacuated, was to be reopened to the public at 2:00 p.m.

The monkey seems to have gotten tired of the island where he lived with his family and climbed a tree before dressing.

The emergency plan has been activated. So the park was evacuated and all visitors were taken safely outside or to the zoo building. Police were sent to the scene while trainers tried to lure the animal into its pasture.

In 2018, a lion managed to escape from his cage at the Planckendael Zoo. Unable to hit the beast, police had to resign to shoot down the beast, very restless, when he came dangerously close to visitors of the Asian wagon.
