Homicide investigators say two brothers found dead in a Richmond fire in March 2021 are now believed to be connected to a shooting the previous year.
On Tuesday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said an incident in December of 2020 may have been a “precursor” to the deaths of Shatin Dhindsa, 25, and Juban Dhindsa, 23, the following year.

On December 3, 2020, there were reports of shooting along Route 3 between Campy Road and Alderbridge Road. IHIT says there are three cars involved, adding that investigators believe this accident is linked to Shatin and Goban’s deaths a few months later, though they haven’t determined the cause.
The two men were found dead on March 19, 2021, in a building along Rathbourne Road. At the time, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said the brothers had injuries “consistent with a murder”.
Sgt. Timothy Pierroti says the investigation is “complicated” and goes beyond a single shooting, although IHIT has only provided details of one such case.
IHIT is asking anyone with information related to the 2021 Shatin and Joban murders or the December 3, 2020 shooting, to call the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at [email protected] gc.ca.
