Uncomfortable conversation. Sister’s Wife documented Christine Brown say “angry” Meri Brown,Janelle Brown and Robyn Brown about her decision to leave her husband Kody Brown.
In the teaser clip for the Sunday, October 2 episode of TLC event shared by We WeeklyChristine, 50, received mixed reactions from her sister’s wife.
“I can’t imagine after 30 years, like, what it would look like,” Janelle, 53, said Christine. “You just became, like, the stuff of everything.”
During confession, Janelle acknowledged that Christine was “front and center in all my memories” and noted that Cooking with Just Christine the host is “as big a part of my world as Kody.”
While Janelle was saddened by the news, Meri, 51, and Robyn, 43, expressed their negative feelings about Christine’s decision to break up their plural family.
“I’m not happy now,” said Meri. “It makes me angry.”
Meanwhile, Robyn admitted that his frustration stems from his divorce experience in the past before finding his love with Kody, 53 years old. “I’ve been through a divorce. I know what this means,” he said at confession. “We’re talking about 18 children, spouses, grandchildren and five of us who are all connected and committed to each other and are technically married.”
He proceeded to question Kody and Christine about whether or not they made the best decision. “I looked at Kody and said, ‘Are you going to let this happen?’” Robyn wondered. “I saw Christine say, ‘Are you sure? Do you know what this means?’ Because I did. It really was hell and for years. It’s still hard for my kids. It’s still difficult.”
The conversation happened after Christine expresses her concern about telling Meri, Janelle, and Robyn about the divorce during the September 18 episode.
After admitting to Kody that she “didn’t expect” to share the news, Christine added, “I didn’t want to break the bridge at the end of this.”
Although she knows her relationship with Janelle is likely to remain strong, the mother of six is not so sure about how Meri and Robyn will react.
“I know that they will be frustrated and angry and hurt and feel betrayed and [wonder], What does it mean to be a sister’s wife? Am I still a sister’s wife?’ And the answer is no,” he said in confession. “I can’t be their sister’s wife anymore. I can be their friend.”
Christine – who shares a child A round, Mykelti, Paedon, Yabel, Gwendlyn and truly with patriarch Brown – announce their separation in November 2021.
“After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave,” he said at the time. “We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we raise our beautiful and Support our amazing family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage in our family.”
