Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaqoub said the government had not discussed any form of measures, including whether students found to be selling PerantiSiwa Keluarga Malaysia will be blacklisted.
“So far, we have not discussed with the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) and the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM). They will look back at it,” he told reporters after the opening ceremony of the Media City complex known as Angkasaburi Kota Media.
However, the Prime Minister called on students who received aid from the facility not to sell it in order to fulfill the government’s desire to help B40 students.
“So they do not seek to make a short-term profit by selling (student devices) because the long-term is more important for them to use the students’ devices to improve the quality of learning for their future,” he said.
Student devices are offered to students of B40 family of higher education institutes in an effort to facilitate the learning process in the current digital age. The Galaxy Tab A8 comes with a keyboard as well as a stylus for those who receive it.
When the PerantiSiswa initiative was introduced before, the government stated that students must return the tablets they received at the end of their studies.
However, the kingdom changed the decision and chose to continue providing student tablets to students.

At a total cost of RM860 million, the newly operated Media City building consists of 18 floors including office space, a ballroom with a capacity of 1,000 people, a music recording studio, a music practice studio, three television studios (M1, M2 and M3), multi-storey car parking and a yard, as well as an outdoor garage.
