realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition in Indonesia

Jakarta, Gizmology – The realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition is officially launched exclusively for the Chinese market. Coming as a flagship smartphone, the realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition is equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

On a limited basis, realme Indonesia invited several journalists including Gizmologi to see firsthand and hands-on their exclusive product, realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition.

As is known, the realme “Master Edition” line is known for its extraordinary design. Previously, realme GT ME to GT 2 Pro had a suitcase-style body design specially designed by Naoto Fukasawa.

Now the realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition brings the Travel Trunk design created by designer Jae-Jung, famous fashion designer in The North Face, Door to Ralph Lauren. Carrying beige leather material with brown frames in the style of exclusive suitcases belonging to travelers or business people.

The grille of this phone is made of metallic material which is also equipped with shoulder keys. Not physical buttons, indeed, but like touch sensors in the style of air triggers on gaming phones that can help when playing games.

realme calls it Hyper Touch Virtual Triggers which is claimed to be responsive and minimal latency. In testing in the PUBG Mobile game, this invisible button has haptic feedback on the edge of the smartphone, the output functions are like L1 and R1 on the console trigger.

Turning to the front, the realme GT 2 Master Exporer Edition has a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, full HD + resolution and supports 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. This screen is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus.

Specifications of realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition

Talking about specifications, the innards of the realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition are one of the first realme smartphones that use the Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, it brings a 10% increase in CPU performance, 30% less CPU/GPU power consumption, and 15% less overall SoC power consumption.

realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition is also one of the first smartphones to use LPDDR5X RAM. Combined with UFS 3.1, this smartphone offers a high power consumption reduction of up to 30% in gaming and 25% in online video.

This smartphone is also equipped with the X7 Display Chip, supports frame rate interpolation up to 4x, which means it can convert 30fps images to 120fps images. This makes the realme GT 2 Master Explorer edition even more power efficient, considering that this Display chip supports image latency of up to 10ms, but still maintains low-power GPU workloads.

In terms of durability, the realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition carries a 5,000 mAh battery and supports a built-in GaN Fet battery charging solution at 100W, so it can be fully charged in 25 minutes.

While other competitors promise 80% battery capacity within 800 times of full charge, realme dares to promise 2x longer usage duration, aka 1600 times, thanks to the latest GaN components in the realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition battery.

In the camera sector, you could say that the realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition camera specifications are made exactly the same as the realme GT 2 Pro. There are two 50MP sensors on the back of the body, consisting of a Sony IMX766 main sensor with dual stabilization and a 150-degree ultra wide-angle sensor.

While the third sensor is a 2MP microscopic sensor that can take photos with 40x magnification. realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition also runs realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12.

When will it be released in Indonesia?

In its home country, this smartphone will be available from 19 July. The realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition price for the lowest variant (8+128GB) is priced at CNY3499 (Rp7.7 million), while the highest option (12+256GB) is at CNY3,999 (Rp8.9 million).

Realme has not announced when this product will be officially released in the country. However, Mohamad Ilham Pratama as the Head of Communications for realme Indonesia, said that this smartphone is only available for the Chinese market.
