IS Muhyiddin Yassin’s leadership in Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) being rejected by their own MPs as rumors that more MPs will join Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) are blowing fast.
Yesterday, Zuraida Kamaruddin, Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, left PPBM and joined PBM. This caused a stir among Muhyiddin’s party. They want a replacement for the Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities from Muhyiddin’s party as well.
But the more important question is what about the position of the majority coalition government between Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN)?
PBM president Larry Sng stressed that the party would support the Malaysian Family government led by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob to ensure that the majority remained.
The Ismail -led government has a majority of 116 MPs from various parties that formed the previous PN administration.
The parties are from BN, Sarawak Coalition Party, Sabah United Party, STAR and several Independent members.
So far, PBM has three representatives in the Dewan Rakyat, namely Julau Member of Parliament, Larry Soon @ Sng, Tebrau Member of Parliament Steven Choong Shiau Yoon and Ampang Member of Parliament Zuraida Kamaruddin.
According to analysts, the recent political turmoil is an indicator that the 15th General Election (GE-15) needs to be held as soon as possible. Parliament needs to be dissolved now to make way for GE-15.
This is important for the political stability that will determine our economic growth. The country cannot afford to lose more investors.
