Matthew Perry said fans can differentiate between when he drank alcohol or did drugs by watching friends.
The actor — who played Chandler Bing on the 10-season comedy series, which ran from 1994 to 2004 — has opened up about his mental struggles.
In his next autobiography Friends, lovers, and the big terrible thingPerry writes extensively about his widely publicized addiction to alcohol and painkillers.
Perry, 53, said fans of the show can tell if he’s drinking alcohol or taking drugs by “measuring” his weight and tracking his facial hair throughout the show.
Berry wrote in an excerpt from the book he published Sixth page.
“When I hold my weight, it’s alcohol; when I’m skinny, it’s pills; when I have a little beard, it’s a lot of pills.”
In the third series that aired in 1996, Perry’s character grows a beard for part of the season.
Perry also writes in his autobiography about the medical emergency that caused him to drop out of the blockbuster Netflix movie do not searchin which he was scheduled to star opposite Meryl Streep and Jonah Hill.
