Trenggalek News – The voice of rejecting the Trenggalek gold mine was crowded on Twitter @EmilDardak, owned by Emil Elestianto Dardak, Deputy Governor of East Java, on Tuesday (27/09/2022). The voice questioned Emil’s attitude as a public official in the rejection of the gold mine by PT Sumber Mineral Nusantara (SMN) in Trenggalek, Wednesday (27/09/2022).
When Kabar Trenggalek pursued the case, the voice rejecting the gold mine on the @EmilDardak twitter account began when Emil retweeted with a quote, against a tweet from the Central Leadership Institute of Wisdom and Public Policy (LHKP PP) Muhammadiyah, on Sunday (11/09/2022). A tweet from PP Muhammadiyah’s LHKP contained the rejection of gold mining by the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership (PDM) Trenggalek. Emil says:
“The point is, if the harm is greater, it must be rejected” – this statement is very wise, so a transparent study is needed that proves the benefits vs. the harm for the benefit of the people of Trenggalek.
The tweet from Emil received a reply from the @rakyatnggalek account, owned by the Trenggalek People’s Alliance. In a tweet, the Trenggalek People’s Alliance, said that the Trenggalek people don’t need to study gold mining anymore.

As a result of receiving criticism from various netizens, Emil immediately responded to the Trenggalek Regent’s letter sent on August 8, 2022 regarding the request for cancellation of PT SMN’s mining business permit – production operation (IUP – OP). The tweet was uploaded by Emil on Friday (16/092022):

His new letter was received by the Head of Energy and Mineral Resources yesterday and immediately followed up for further coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. A letter from the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) of East Java Province, explaining that the Trenggalek Regent’s letter will be followed up to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Director General of Mineral and Coal.
However, the voices of rejection of the Trenggalek gold mine did not stop there. On Tuesday (27/09/2022), the Trenggalek People’s Alliance uploaded a tweet containing an invitation letter from the Forestry Service (Dishut) of East Java Province. The activity in the invitation is Field Inspection in the context of Technical Considerations of Approval for Use of Forest Areas for production operations and further exploration activities from PT SMN.

In his uploaded tweet, the Trenggalek People’s Alliance, entitled IKHTIAR PALSU JATIM PROVINCE. The Trenggalek People’s Alliance said, Friday (16 September 2022) Emil expressed his support for the struggle against PT SMN’s gold mine in Trenggalek. It turned out that the statement was just a fake from the East Java Provincial Government, to quell the anger of the Trenggalek people.

Emil again received criticism from various circles of netizens. Then, Emil replied that he had just received information about the event between the East Java Dishut and PT SMN on Tuesday at 11.29 WIB, from the report of the Head of the ESDM Service. At 11.36 WIB, Emil informed the Head of Dishut, Head of the Environment Service, and Head of the Investment Service and One Stop Integrated Services (PMPTSP) that the East Java Provincial Government had expressed support for the Trenggalek Regent’s request not to continue the gold mine exploitation permit. Thus, the activities of PT SMN and the East Java Dishut should not run.
Then, on Wednesday (28/09/2022), Emil reported that the activities of PT SMN and the East Java Dishut on Wednesday-Friday (28-30/09/2022) were canceled. In his tweet, Emil attached a letter of cancellation signed by the Head of the East Java Dishut, Jumaidi. Emil says:
Activities related to gold mining that were originally scheduled for today have been cancelled. Our appreciation to Kadishut for that step. Thanks also to KadisESDM who informed about this yesterday afternoon.
Until this news was published, Trenggalek News continued to monitor the latest information regarding the cancellation of activities between PT SMN and the East Java Forestry Office.
