Everything that is excessive, including consuming a food and drink every day is not good for health. Call it sugar, salt and fat which if consumed in excess can trigger the emergence of various diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart, stroke, kidney and even nervous disorders.
The Minister of Health Regulation No. 30 of 2013 regulates the rules for consuming GGL, namely the inclusion of information on sugar, salt and fat content as well as health messages on ready-to-eat food and processed food. This recommendation for consumption of GGL is quite important in order to avoid excess consumption of GGL or under consumption of GGL
According to the rules, every person in a day is recommended to consume sugar by 10% of the total energy (200kcal), or the equivalent of 4 tablespoons of sugar or 50 grams. While the recommended consumption of salt in a day is 2000 mg of sodium. Consumption of salt is equal to 1 teaspoon or 5 grams.
Meanwhile, the recommended consumption of fat per person is 20-25% of total energy (702 kcal). Consumption of fat is the same as 5 tablespoons of fat or 67 grams.
Some of the diseases that may arise due to ignoring the recommended consumption of GGL are heart disease, stroke, kidney and even nervous disorders. Not only that, what’s scarier is diabetes and high blood pressure. By paying attention to the recommended consumption of GGL, then we can create a healthier lifestyle for the family.
