Klopp says Darwin Nunez needs more support

He needs more support around him to keep rivals busy with Jakarta (Beritamu.co.id) – Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says his new striker Darwin Nunez He still needs more support from his teammates.

And, citing Sky Sports, Thursday, Klopp explained that Nunez was often alone in the opponent’s defense and lacked support, including when Liverpool lost 0-1 to RB Salzburg on Wednesday.

“Darwin is often alone, everything is far and wide and Darwin is left alone in the penalty area,” Klopp said after the match against Salzburg.

“He has his chances but he needs more support around him to keep the opposing players busy so they don’t focus on him. I didn’t feel good but we took that and left here for now.”

This is Liverpool’s second loss in the pre-season tour after losing to Manchester United and defeating Crystal Palace and Leipzig.

“In the first half, we made a lot of mistakes that can be benefited from. We had a good moment in this match, we should have scored at least four or five goals. We didn’t,” Klopp said.

Darwin Nunez was brought in by Liverpool from Benfica at a price of 85 million pounds, or about 1.5 trillion rupees, in the transfer market this summer.

Liverpool will prepay 64 million pounds (about 1.1 trillion rupees) to Benfica and increase to 85 million if Nunez reach certain agreed milestones, such as the number of goals to win the Champions League.

Nunez’s sharpness will be tested again next week when Liverpool face Manchester City at the Community Shield Gala at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday.
