A girl in Indonesia’s Jambi province was killed and swallowed whole by a python, according to local experiences.
Jahrah, a rubber tapper said to be in his 50s, went to work at a rubber plantation on Sunday morning.
He was reported missing after he did not return that evening and a search party was sent out to look for him. A day later the villagers discovered a python with a huge belly.
The locals then killed the snake and found its body inside.
“The patient was discovered inside the snake’s belly,” Betara Jambi police chief AKP S Harefa informed local media, including that his physique appeared intact when discovered.
She mentioned that the husband of the patient late on Sunday revealed a number of clothing and equipment that he was using in the rubber plantation, so he was known as a research workforce.
After the snake – which was no less than 5m (16ft) long – was spotted on Monday, villagers then caught and killed it to confirm the identification of the patient.
“After reducing the opening of his abdomen, they discovered that Jahrah was inside,” Harefa told CNN Indonesia.
