This problem appears when playing PUBG Mobile using the Tencent Gaming Buddy emulator. After updating to the latest version, the screen stops or freezes when we throw grenades, Molotov cocktails, even when throwing apples, the game stops.
This will be very annoying when playing and meeting enemies but when throwing grenades the game gets stuck and the screen stops. But strangely, the sound continues to run as usual.
It turns out that this problem is also experienced by many other friends who play PUBG Mobile using the Tencent emulator. I’ve tried traveling to several forums and found friends who complained of experiencing this bug, especially after updating PUBG Mobile to the latest version.
What caused it?
The cause is a bug that does exist in the tencent emulator, which until now has not been fixed. This bug usually occurs in those who use AMD graphics cards (VGA).
If you are also an AMD VGA user and experience the same bug, please comment below. Because I happen to be an AMD Radeon VGA user and experienced a screen stop bug when throwing this grenade, the bug started to occur after updating to the latest PUBG Mobile version.
Tips on how to overcome PUBG Mobile screen stops, lags, and freezes when throwing grenades. Work! Tested by me.
To overcome this bug was not difficult. I’ve done a trial error by changing the settings on the Tencent emulator to fiddling with the settings on the VGA driver and finally I was able to find a solution.
Here are the steps:
1. Clear emulator cache
The trick is to open the tencent gaming buddy application, then click play PUBG Mobile. Open the menu tab in the top right corner. Then click clean cache.
Note: after cleaning the cache we have to re-login, re-download updates and maps.
2. Change rendering engine to OpenGL+

After clearing cache, go to settings. Then in the rendering section change it to OpenGL +
After that close the emulator application and run the game again. At this stage maybe the bug has been successfully resolved.
3. Change engine resolution and game resolution according to monitor resolution
To make the game run more smoothly with a resolution that is not stretched or the image is broken, you can optimize it by adjusting the resolution according to the resolution of the monitor used.

On the engine, change the resolution according to the monitor resolution.
Also change the in-game resolution according to the VGA spec used. If you use a VGA Radeon RX550 and above, you can use a 1080p resolution so that the game looks clearer.

The method above works on the computer I’m using. So far the screen stop bug when throwing grenades doesn’t appear anymore.
If the problem still appears, try to uninstall the Tencent Gaming Buddy on your computer first and then download the latest version. Install PUBG Mobile again then do the above method.
In my experience, updating directly from the Tencent application to the new version often causes bugs. So if there is the latest update, it is better if you download it directly from the site instead of updating via the application.
Okay, hopefully this post can help solve your error. If it’s fixed, let’s go! Check out my gameplay using Tencent Gaming Buddy here:
