Henry Kissinger is still alive and kicking at WEF 2022

Despite what some people may have imagined, Henry Kissinger is still alive in 2022 – the 98-year-old’s comments about Ukraine and Russia have ruffled some feathers – and appears to be in good health.

Yes, Henry Kissinger is alive and well in 2022

Born 27 May 1923, Henry (born Heinz) Alfred Kissinger will turn 99 in a few days’ time – the day after the 2022 Davos summit comes to an end.

As a teenager, Kissinger fled Nazi Germany with his family in 1938. 31 years later, he became National Security Advisor under Nixon, and US Secretary of State in 1973.

Arguably the most famous Secretary of State in US history – at least in the 20th century – Henry Kissinger’s “intervention” during WEF 2022 was somewhat divisive.

He said that Ukraine should cede part of its territory to Russia in exchange for peace. Inna Sovsun, deputy head of the GolosZmin Party of Ukraine, took issue with his comments.

Some people are apparently surprised that Henry Kissinger is still alive – is he in good health?

Since Kissinger’s comments at Davos made headlines, people have been airing their thoughts (and making their jokes) about the fact that he is still alive.

Most takes are, for want of a better word, irreverent.

And he seems to be in good health, too. Axel Springer chief executive Mathias Döpfner interviewed him in April 2021 and opened with, “You’re looking great, and healthy too”.

A year earlier, in June 2020, he gave a lively and far-reaching interview with Richard Haass, the president of the Council on Foreign Relations.

And he’s been keeping busy too

Henry Kissinger has released several written works in the last 20 years, the most recent being The Age Of AI: And Our Human Future.

He co-wrote The Age Of AI with Eric Schmidt and Daniel Huttenlocher. It came out only last year. Before that, Penguin released his books On China (2011) and World Order (2014).

In 2018, Henry Kissinger became the Honorary Chair of the advisory board for the Bloomberg New Economy Forum, and from 2014 to 2017 he served on the board of Theranos, a health technology company.
