Glance Lock Screen Platform Content Consumption Grows Double – Singapore-headquartered lock screen content platform Glance has released the ‘Lock Screen Trends?Report, 2022’, a comprehensive report on content consumption trends and user behavior on mobile lock screens.

Based on the pattern of engagement (interaction) by more than 200 million Glance users, the report highlights the development of media consumption trends and habits in Indonesia and India.

Referring to the report, Glance recorded a number of milestones since just in the last year, reaching 200 million active users globally.

In February 2022, Glance secured $200 million in funding from telecommunications giant Jio Platform to drive international expansion.

Glance also launched Glance LIVE, a live streaming service and interactive content on lock screens in India. The same is being tested in Indonesia.

In Indonesia, Glance saw a high spike in lock screen content consumption between December 2020 – December 2021, where there was a 97% increase.

Indonesians also love Glance content, unlocking the lock screen on their mobile phone 60 times a day to consume lock screen content.

Lock screen content sharing increased by 70%. The favorite categories of users in Indonesia are new, entertainment, nature & wildlife, technology, and health & fitness.

Lock screen consumption peaks after dinner, which is around 8pm.

The report also reveals that users in India are watching more live and interactive content on the lock screen.

They also actively participate in live streams through interactive polls, AMAs, questions, comments and gifting.

Gaming is the most popular live category, while entertainment and commerce attract users.

Over 12.5 million users watched live game streams on their lock screens between December 2021 – February 2022.

Users in India also love live streams from influencers, including paid masterclasses, as well as live broadcasts of music concerts and ticketed fashion shows on Glance.

Glance expects to see similar trend growth in Indonesia.
