Eight U-Haul trucks caught fire, fuel theft could be the cause

SACRAMENTO, California (KTXL) — The Sacramento Fire Department said it was responding to U-Haul Centers in Franklin and Broadway on Sunday when eight trucks caught fire.

According to the fire department, they responded at around 2:45 a.m. to find seven trucks badly burned and one truck moderately burnt.

The fire department said that while fuel theft had increased in Sacramento, they could not confirm whether fuel theft was the cause of these fires until their investigation was complete.

The fire started in three trucks and spread to five other trucks, according to the fire department.
