Doug Kennerly of Summerville has been identified as the man who was shot at the Creative Cuttin’ Styles barber and beauty salon in downtown Summerville, around 7:20 p.m. yesterday.
On September 24, the Summerville Police Department responded to gunfire that resulted in the death of a 34-year-old man in front of Creative Cuttin’ Styles at 312 N. Cedar St.
Emergency medical services from Dorchester County and officers from the Summerville Police Department responded to the incident which occurred at 7:20 p.m. The victim, Doug Kennerly, was identified as the man who was shot, suffered gunshot wounds, and eventually lost his life from those injuries. The person was apparently taken to Trident Hospital, but he was unable to recover from his injuries and died there.
This incident is being treated as a homicide and is being investigated as such at this time. As of this publication, the Summerville Police Department has not made any arrests.
Autopsies will be performed on the remains of individuals who died at the Medical University of South Carolina on September 29, 2022, at 10:30 a.m.
According to a press release issued by the police recently, the investigation is still ongoing.
