A little while ago, I went to Cornwall with some friends in the hope of detoxing on the beautiful beaches and coastal walks. Somehow we managed to clear our minds between the terrible downpours that knocked us sideways and got our socks all wet. And while we huddled in the metal and waited for these spells of terrible weather to calm down, we played obscene amounts of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.
Over the course of several weeks, we racked up over 60 hours of playtime. I would wake up and see my friend clearing the map markers. I would go for a quick run (yes, I ran on my vacation like a bum) and come back to see both of my friends clearing map markers. Did we enjoy it? Sometimes! But then, why couldn’t we just stop playing? The Ubisoft effect, I guess.
