Dell is hiring experienced Lab Support Engineer 2 at their Bangalore location. As a Lab Support Engineer 2, you will be part of the team responsible for running and maintaining a shared lab/LAAS (Lab-As-A-Service). You will be responsible for developing, configuring Dell Systems in LaaS Lab specifically for the project needs of our internal customers [Dell Engineering] Team members.

Duties and responsibilities:
The ideal candidate should:
Own a customer ticket (develop servers and configurations to customer specifications) and drive resolution that results in high customer satisfaction while meeting Service Level Agreements
Provide technical assistance to our customers on configuration related questions, help maintain lab infrastructure, and work with customers to resolve issues
Lab inventory management via online tools and spreadsheets to provide real-time knowledge of asset condition, location and usage. Monitor and troubleshoot technical environment for problems and report to main team
Assist with hardware deployment and migration, adding/removing component parts, cabling and asset audits
Help with firmware updates, Server OS installation, driver updates, patches. Maintain a thorough understanding of all documented processes and procedures.
2+ years of lab operations experience, working in server hardware lab environment.
3+ years customer experience. Handle customer problems, escalation, reach a compromise solution in a short time
Demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills, ability to work independently or in a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Take a proactive approach to finding and solving problems when working with equipment.
Experience supporting Dell PowerEdge Servers or Dell Software environments. Good knowledge of multiple OS – Windows and Linux (Redhat, SLES, Ubuntu).
Good networking skills, Customer Service relationship, Collaborate with team members. This is a local position that you should be in the area.
Qualification: Diploma/Bachelor. Experience with Jira, Confluence, MS Visio, MS Office and database administration.
Experience with inventory management skills especially with radio frequency tags, CenterScape app or similar asset management tools
Experience with ServiceNow, other ticketing tools, troubleshooting tools and processes, and lab security standards. Knowledge of basic networking and basic storage configuration will be an added advantage.
