Impact of La Nina Triple Dip
This natural phenomenon has begun in mid-2020 and is predicted to continue until the end of 2022 and possibly continues until early 2023. Because of this series, it is called La Nina “Triple Dip”. In the past, this phenomenon had occurred in the period 1973 to 1975 and from 1998 to 2001.
The La Nina Triple Dip is a phenomenon that affects weather and climate patterns in Indonesia, one of which causes some areas to experience the rainy season earlier, and has the impact of increasing rainfall in many places in Indonesia.
Beware of La Nina Triple Dip
The BMKG appealed to the entire community, the central government, and local governments to be aware of the potential for a wet hydrometeorological disaster caused by the La Nina Triple Dip.
Disasters that can arise such as floods, flash floods, strong winds, extreme weather, landslides, and so on.
Not only that, all levels of society also need to be aware of the potential for diseases that usually appear in the rainy season, ranging from diarrhea, dengue fever, leptospirosis, acute respiratory infections (ARI), skin diseases, and so on.
