IDXChannel – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that Sofifi City in North Maluku Province is expected to become a new growth center in the future.
This was conveyed by him after reviewing UKM Mart, Sofifi Village, Tidore Islands City on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
“Sofifi City is the administrative center of North Maluku Province and the offices have moved here, this will also be a new growth point in the future,” the President said in a statement, Wednesday (28/9/2022).
However, as a provincial capital, said Jokowi, Sofifi City still has to be equipped with other infrastructure facilities.
“Indeed, there are some infrastructures that still need to be backed up by the central government, ports and airports that are close here,” said Jokowi.
Regarding the form of the infrastructure investment scheme to be built, the President will convey after it is decided.
“Earlier, I also had a long discussion with the Governor, later on the scheme we are looking for. I will inform you as soon as I find it,” he explained.
